The hardest part of making this comic was coming up with the spelling of the sounds ravens make. They don’t caw like crows, but instead do this incredible mixture of a honk, bark, cry, trill… thing. Look it up. They’re awesome, but I have no idea how to spell the sound phonetically. If you can think of a better spelling, throw it into the comments.

I came pretty close to deciding this raven was a mute, though, just to make it easier on myself.

I’m learning a new inking program for the comic. It’s pretty awesome, but there are some growing pains. I’m not thrilled with all the parts of this update, but I want to get something posted for you guys and continue the story. I’ll try and come back and clean this up in the coming weeks.

I’m really excited about the next several updates. Can’t wait to see what you think.

Also, we’re nearing the close of what I originally called “Chapter 1″.

We’re Moving

First, an apology for the short lapse in updates. Second, to be clear, it’s actually my wife and me that are moving, not the comic. That’s actually the reason for the lapse in updates.

After over ten years in Baltimore, my wife and I accepted jobs at Bioware Montreal and are moving up soon. I’ll be the Lead Level Designer there and my wife will be a Level Designer, as well. We’re in the process of selling our home, packing up our belongings, and looking ahead, so the comic had to wait this past couple of weeks.

I’m glad to say I’ve time now to start on some updates, however, so expect our story to continue next week. In the meantime, I hope this sketch of the train and some of our characters finds you all well.

Wish us luck on the next life chapter!
